Heat Hits 17 Firefighters at Monroe, MI, Building Fire

One firefighter was transported to a hospital while the others were treated at the Monroe business plaza scene.

The heat created issues for firefighters at a structure fire in Monroe Tuesday afternoon.

One firefighter was hospitalized while 16 others were treated at the scene for heat-related issues, according to WTOL.

Firefighters responded to the vacant building in the business plaza after someone spotted heavy smoke.

The cause remains under investigation.
